A three part project was initiated by the DHPA along with financial stakeholders; Industry Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (Federal & Provincial), Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, and the Municipality of Digby.
The Capacity Building Project had a $3M budget and was comprised of the following:
Stakeholders recognize the critical importance of the Fisherman’s Wharf in Digby as essential infrastructure to the fishery sector in Southwest Nova Scotia. Digby is the last port on the Nova Scotia side of the Bay of Fundy to have water at low tide (wet port). Combined with the physical ability to expand, Digby is a prime location to invest and serve the region.
